Fivefold

Fivefold is an intuitive game where you try to create a row of 5 pieces horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
You can capture and remove your opponent's pieces by moving diagonally into them.
If you no longer have 5 pieces left, then the goal becomes who has the last piece on the board!
Objective
Be the first player to start your turn with five of your pieces in a consecutive line — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. This is called a Fivefold.
Setup
The board starts empty. Each player holds 15 pieces in their supply. Player 1 (Gold) goes first.
On Your Turn
At the start of your turn, the game checks whether you already have a Fivefold on the board. If you do, you win — no further action needed. Otherwise, choose exactly one of the following two actions:
Action 1 — Place - Take one piece from your supply and place it on any empty square.
Action 2 — Move & Capture - Select one of your pieces on the board and move it one square in any of the 8 directions — up, down, left, right, or diagonally. If the destination holds an enemy piece, it is captured and removed permanently. You cannot move onto your own piece.
Winning
A win is declared at the start of your turn if you have five pieces in a consecutive line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal). This means your opponent always gets at least one chance to respond and break your line before you can win.
Strategy tip
When your opponent builds four in a row, watch carefully — if they complete five, you have exactly one turn to capture a piece in the middle of their line before they win. Diagonal captures are your best tool for a last-second break.
Controls
Tap an empty square to place a piece from your supply. Tap one of your own pieces to select it, then tap a highlighted square to move it. Green dots show legal moves; a green border marks a capturable enemy piece.
